More than 30,000 amateur radio operators set up temporary transmitting stations in public places to demonstrate amateur radio's science, skill, and service to their communities and our nation.   Field Day brings together public service, emergency preparedness, community outreach, and technical skills in a single event. First held in 1933, it has become amateur radio's premier annual operating event.   America250 is the national, nonpartisan organization charged by Congress to lead the commemoration of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, a milestone marking America’s Semiquincentennial.   ARRL is the national membership association for amateur radio operators. We provide opportunities to discover radio, to develop new skills, and to serve your local community. No other organization works harder than ARRL to promote and protect amateur radio!
